Yesterday November 6, 2008 was International Day called “A Day In The World’s Shoes”. A group of people called “Cross Road” came to our school willingly to help us be aware what was going on outside our little bubble of money and greed. A person from “Cross Road” said while the people were suffering in poor countries while in rich countries they were choosing what kind of cereal to eat for breakfast.
I was surprised when the fact that more than 40% of the whole population of the world lives under 2 $ a day. . . That’s less than my allowance. . .! I felt really bad for them and at myself, maybe I could be a little more grateful for what I have. They don’t even live in a real house, they live with other people they don’t even know. Also they don’t even have their own bathroom. Instead they use this one toilet with 200 other families. I was like “WOW” because I have like 3 bathrooms in my house. I should grow up to be a succesful peron and help these people in need.
